Her notes are a decade old but to some races that is nothing, or to high leveled alchemists/mages who can undo age. Still a long time to not talk to your friends or something. If there is an act 3 reference I didn't see it. So its just not clear what to think.
Spoilers.
https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Lenore_De_Hurst
Lenore had just begun writing her treatise on sussur flowers, before being called away to Baldur's Gate to confer with her fellow Mystran clerics sometime in 1481 DR.[9] Before departing the tower, Lenore left a message for Yrre, asking that they wait for her return with the hope that the two could reunite.[10]
Lenore planned to depart the tower only for a short time. However, she never returned, her research and tower going untouched for a decade. Yrre eventually visited with The Spellsparkler, a staff they had made specially for Lenore,[11] and Lenore's letter. They waited for some time in vain, but eventually left when she failed to return.
Lenore's last known location was during her conference in Baldur's Gate, when she was temporarily ensnared by an anomaly cause by a stranger (see Easter eggs).

Lenore's correspondence to Lorroakan includes a likely reference to Tarquin from Larian Studios' previous game, Divinity: Original Sin II. At the end of that game, Tarquin's dialogue provided easter egg information about Baldur's Gate 3, which was in pre-production at the time:

.... Implies that the 'Tuqueen' referenced in Lenore's letter is in fact Tarquin, and he somehow managed to find his way to the Forgotten Realms shortly before the events of BG3. Tarquin was later spotted at the House of Grief, undergoing the Mapping of the Heart under a pseudonym.

The funny thing. Her tower is probably worth exploring for the loot, the adventure, the story, and the XP. But, in many cases, you can easily get what you need for the quest from Omeluum in three ways:
1. Just buy both alchemical ingredients, Tongue of Madness, and Timmask Spores (you only need 1 of each) from Derryth (she often has both for sale, her ingredient inventory randomizes)
2. As Omeluum himself acknowledges, both ingredients can easily be found elsewhere in the Underdark.
3. Apparently, if you bring Omeluum a Tadpole Elixir (which is what he is making from your ingredients), the quest also completes. (I'm not sure how often the elixir itself turns up at vendors.)
Also, I wonder if Lenore is the same Lenore who appears in other instances of D&D.
I tried to see if she was one of the imprisoned people in the Iron Throne 'cause I doubt Gortash would wanna let her go. Pretty sure Gortash would have learned of the tower from her or Omelumm as trying to retrace our steps to find it would be incredibly difficult and likely improbably since I am assuming he wouldn't have had the time once learning we are alive to have sent a search squad but if it was learned from Lenore or Omelumm, then there would have been time.
