This is why it (and no other camera mods) aren't at mod.io. Now, TBH, I don't know if it's POSSIBLE to do a camera mod not done this way. Because if not, no camera mod will ever work on anything but Windows or appear there.
I honestly hate targeting people standing above you on rafters (like in Moonrise) because, honestly, the existing camera sucks for this. There should be more free vertical movement plus the ability to look up (and yes I know Native Camera Mod does this, but.)
If you don't want stuff that changes actual gameplay (and personally, though I use those, I don't in first playthroughs), the two search categories you want to look for stuff in are "Quality of Life" and "UI". Inventory management in this game can be frustrating, and (for example) inventory mods will tend to be in those two places.
What's essential can come down to subjectivity, obviously. And what you can use may not always match what you wish you could (that's me).
Personally.
I've put 600+ hours in and I'll put in more I'm sure and I've not played a modded playthrough yet and still had plenty of replayability.
QoL is gonna depend on you personally and I don't know if you'll know until you start getting into the game what you like and don't like.
I think the game in it's pure form is plenty of game to game though. It got it's laurels for a reason.
The only thing I do recommend, is, depending on playstyle, maybe take breaks per act to avoid burnout. You can beat the game in 30 hours if you ignore a lot of things but in a lot of cases it's like 80 to 120 hours to finish and most people feel a bit exhausted by Act 3.
I guess the problem with quality of life is I don’t know the original to know what is changed for the better!
I will have a think
Is your PC still considered "new" by now?
Haha it was probably not “ new “ by pc gaming standards when I got it. I bought it for PC games if that makes sense
5800X3D
4070 super FE
It’s probably overkill for some of the pc games I will use it for
