Although it is a concentration spell, so what you can't do is lose concentration.
^^^^^ Which is weird, given that on every other item, you remove the item, you lose the buff / spell...
Although I'm not sure if switching out Gontr Mael would break the Haste.
The difference between Gontr Mael and those buffs that break that you are talking about is that this is a 5 turn (IIRC) spell, not something that lasts until Short/Long Rest. Those buffs end if you switch out the item that gave the buff.
