There can be. I don't spend a cent on games now. My kids know what I want at Birthdays, Holidays and Father's Day. Steam Gift Card. I only get games from Steam any more.

With 3 adult kids and Steam stays active, I I don't see myself ever having to spend my money on a game anymore.

And it's not just that. I like how Steam does things with my games. The Library and tools that are provided. It's really convenient for my gaming enjoyment. I would still use it if I never got any Steam Gift cards.

The other upside is that you don't get Steam forum douchebags yelling that your opinions aren't valid because you don't own the game.
