There will be no Steam Workshop ever for the game.
It is not bad, depending on the game's implementation - but like Vortex and any other installers it comes with too many downsides for the modding community.
But then again, there are some very good games which does implement it in a remarkable good way. Just missing the payout you get elsewhere.
one thing i hate is you can't control versioning or variant version on steam workshop. and also no beta testing. if the modder decide to update mods and there any bug, your game just auto break or brick because steam workshop auto update it
i much prefer 3rd party one that i can manual control versioning. on steam if modder want to do any versioning they have to create a new mod name Beta. and for end user there is no easy way to say "i want to roll back to previous mod version because latest mod break my save".
beside that there is just too many issue with steam workshop where it is just very limited and issues they never fix since forever
True. I used some Workshop mods for Warhammer 2 and they worked really well. Never had any issues with them.
A good chunk of us are lazy and like how Steam automates mod management.
I would not call it lazy
