TL:DR "If you love something set it free. If it comes back to you then it is truly yours", but with Platonic connotations.

Personally I find this whole scenario hilarious... let me explain. While not one myself I have talked cordially with several LGBT+ people enough for them to open up to me. From my experience a commonality most of them share is at least one oppressive individual who was supposed to be a role model. Sure some are naturally drawn to the community, but it appears many are by some means traumatized by what the perceive the norm to be enough that they have rejected it. So the way I see it if people really want to stop the spread of LGBT+ then ironically we would need to stop adults from personally telling kids definitively who they should be emotionally, and sexually.... which we should be doing anyway. It also means if I am right this push back the LGBT+ community is receiving absolutely will not help. I could be wrong about this I fully acknowledge that I have been wrong before, but I want it to be right if for no other reason the delicious irony to it.
