Your most fun class without being OP or min/max?
Just curious to see what people had a lot of fun play as when it comes to class. (multiclass is fine too). Specifically ones that arent intentionally overpowered or min/maxed to be S tier.

Thx, Ill give it a browse... only one thing. This thread doesnt put any emphasis on the class not being OP or min/maxed.

Many find that the only fun classes are the OP ones, or the ones tweaked to the point of being godly. Im not looking for that.

If you like casting spells, cleric/wizard multiclasses are fun because you get access to all the cleric spells from your levels, plus all the wizard spells you learn from scrolls. Tricky to manage that they cast off of different attributes, though.

I enjoyed playing as a Wild Magic sorcerer because of the crazy stuff that might just randomly happen.

Warlocks are a love them or hate them class, and I think they are fun.

Playing a githyanki is great, because there is a bunch of special gear and content, and at the end you can get to fly off to the Astral Plane on a dragon.

If you count modded ones, then I had fun with Wyldheart - a mix between a druid and a sorcerer. My current run is a Witch, too soon to tell, if it's better or not, since I'm not too far yet, but it's fun to shapeshift into a cat and summon another cat as a familiar.

I understand that. But that is also dependent on what one thinks is OP. It also depends on what difficulty setting you want to play. You can make any class less powerful by design and effort and still have fun if the style is what you enjoy.

The Fighter class ( Champion subclass ) is the easiest to play. Fun also? Well that still is dependent on the player. The Battle Master subclass has more tools to use. So one could say they are more powerful. *shrugs.

The Bard for the vicious mockeries and dialogue options.

Playing a Devotion Paladin without breaking your Oath or a Half-Orc Barbarian who doesn't take ♥♥♥♥ from anyone, damn the consequences.

Both are wrong answers, though, because Eldritch Knight is the most fun.

Sorlock. 6/6 split or 5 lock 7 sorc. Hunger of hadar is insane when used properly and you still get the best (level 3-4) bomb AoE abilities in the game. less long rest dependent

Definitly NOT S tier class, tons of fun

Doesn't have to be a "min - max" Sword Bard 6, Gloomstalker 3, Assassin 3.. Sharpshooter Feat. First round opening volley hasted 4x ranged flurrish for 8 attacks + 1 dread ambusher attack, nets you a first round shut down on most fights. If you have 9 arrows of X slaying you know you can kill ANYTHING in 1 round (basically that's 18 attacks [if you can even use special arrows with ranged flourish not sure, haven't tested, but 9 attacks is still wicked with all being crits]). Can grab 10 attacks if you two handed style with hand Xbows and use bonus action... Which if you open combat with two handed you'll technically start the round refreshed (assassin perk) so you get 12 attacks ...

Lol. When it comes to what is fun, there is no "wrong" answer because what is fun is subjective. I don't find EK to be fun. Just like I don't enjoy Rap music. :P

They are a fun class. But does not take a lot of effort for them to feel very powerful also.

I think this is the issue the OP will have. You can purposely gimp any class, char. Or not use any skills if you find them too powerful. But that certainly would not be fun for me.

I enjoy playing a monoclass rogue, which is sort of the opposite of being OP.
