i didn't kill isobel and i was forced to kill gale wiki says there is supposed to be a chance to not kill him or to save your love interest but i was never given one they just died. is the roll passive? on honor mode and my party just went hostile. cant even go back to see what went wrong just stuck in the aftermath. pretty trash that i didnt get a chance.

You need to choose the option to try and wake him up. Then you should get the option to resist killing him (DC 14 Wisdom saving throw). It's not a passive one.

Did you go back to bed? Then you'll kill your love interest in your sleep.
