How to create a sword bard paladin multiclass?
Whats the best way to go about this build? Everyone talks about it but I have no idea how to do it and youtube guides seems to mixed. So curious what the community would do to make this build.

I would build one of two ways.

If you are trying to maximize smite, 2 paladin / 10 bard (college of swords).

For more versatility, 6 paladin / 6 bard gets you aura of protection, and extra attack from paladin, letting you pick college of swords or lore.

Okay great so If I wanted to maximize how would I level 2 paladin/10 bard. What feats would be good and what ability point improvements.

Depends, do you want to be able to range damage as well or just be a melee monster ?

If you want the option of range then dex and charisma should be top priority.
if melee is all you care about then strength and charisma.

If you are doing the former 1h + shield works ok and feats should be spent mostly on stat increases with sharp shooter being an option.

If you are doing the later then grab a 2h weapon, great weapon master then either sentinal or a stat increase to strength.

Note most people prefer sorcerer & or warlock to bard + paladin cause those combos get more damage output (haste and twin spell) and have the option to dump a stat completely (since lock can use charisma for attacks with a pact weapon).

Bard + paladin however does get more skills, expertise and some very nice utility spells.

No one talks about that because that is not really a strong build compared to what other multiclass mixes of bard can do.

Banishing smite guaranteed crit on top of a lvl 4 crit chain smite proc vs a vulnerable enemy will never not be funny.

Not a strong multi class option? Anything Paladin + Charisma Based class is strong.

But yeah 2 Paladin + Sword Bard if you just want the Smites.

4 Paladin + Sword Bard (because of Multi Attack) if you want 3 feats.

At least 6/7 Paladin + other Charisma class if you want Aura but especially if you don't choose Sword Bard (because of Extra Attack).

And if you use Warlock you can even get 3 Attacks (non Honour Mode).

Btw. you don't need Dext for Ranged stuff:
1. Strength based can Throw stuff for good damage (especially with the right gear).
2. There is a Bow in game that will allow you to use Strength instead of Dexterity.

Good Feats:
Great Weapon Master if you use a Two Handed Weapon and want an additional Attack (max Damage, Strength based or Charisma if Warlock). You primarily don't use it for the damage (and maybe shouldnt activate it).

Or Savage Attacker (works on Smites, too) and adds a good chunk of Damage.

Then just Ability Improvement to pump your Primary Stat (Usually Strength, Dext if One Handed Finesse Weapons, Charisma when Warlock).

But if you are Strength based there are potions (and one gauntlet) that adds more strength than you could achieve through ability improvement. If you use them all the time you don't need ability improvement or Strength at all.

And if you go with Charisma then going 19 might be sufficient (if you use Hags Hair or Mirror of Loss to it's full potential).

Also I recommend to begin with Paladin as first level so you get all weapons and armours. If not Dext based (recommend only when using a shield which is absolutely not necessary on a Paladin) you should wear heavy armour.
