Esthers Brilliant Acquisitions mod removes items from later questrewards/loottables - Problems with getting some items (hat of fire acuity / potent robes)
I am at Rivington at the strange ox now, which should drop the hat of fire acuity according to pretty much all sources. Killing it it only ever drops a ring and two gems.
I had a similar problem on this playthrough with the potent robe. I just didnt receive it from alfira after saving the tieflings in act 2 (all of them), got all the other rewards - gold, scrolls everything. also had a save just before turning the quest in and retried multiple times - didnt get the item.
Does anyone else have this problems or know what the problem might be?
Thanks in advance

Are you using any mods?

i used Esther’s Brilliant Acquisitions for getting the ring of protection because i didnt turn in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ statue before freeing halsin and the drow leaders but uninstalled it after getting that ring (would have cost me hours of playing xP). And got the potent robe via a mod that spawned it in my inventory on loading the game (in act 3 when i realised I got screwed out of it)

Thinking about it - it might be a problem with that Esther’s Brilliant Acquisitions mod. I think that trader had both problematic items in the inventory. Sadly i cannt go back to her anymore and dont think she is in act 3 at all.
Got any ideas to workaround or fix it?

So you installed a mod that moved some items to a trader, and then didn't trade for them? Hmm.

Well of course not. The mod explicitely states that it is for missed or otherwise unavailable items. I got the missed item I wanted and uninstalled it.
Why would I want to trivialise my playthrough by getting act 2 or 3 items in act 1.
Also this my first time in more than a decade of gaming, that giving a trader specific items takes them away from other parts of the game.

See, mods don't necessarily work so that you can just install/uninstall them during a save. Some you may be able to install mid-way through a save, but uninstalling a mod doesn't necessarily undo the changes the mod made for that save.

A new save should be fine.

Except you didn't experience this as part of your "decade of gaming".

It's not a part of the game.

It's a part of the mod you installed.

I've received Potent Robes just fine in a recently-ish started save, so chances are it's your mod that screwed it up.

Pretty sure it was the mod. Still new for me that giving a trader items removes them from questrewards.
Even if not uninstalling the mod i couldnt get the items anymore because of it. Esther only seems to be a trader in act 1.

Guess it cannot really be fixed in my playthrough

Tldr: I would caution using that mod - if you dont plan to just cheat all those items early in the game.
Otherwise it screws you out of quite alot of endgame items.

You install mods at your own risk. Especially if you don't know exactly what the mods do.

If the item is coded unique, and some are, and it spawns into a trader's inventory, it won't appear later on in the game.

BTW, another way to get her "inaccessible" items is the cheater's ring can spawn a box of them ... and then you get them for free. Again, one of my faves among the inaccessible items is the scarab of protection - shields you from necrotic magic.
