Why do so many people have problems with "woke" (a basically meaningless insult) stuff? It doesn't make sense to me. Why do people keep saying that it's "forced down their throat"? Why is having things like LGBT+ people so "wrong"?

Because a human is an awesome, beautiful thing, capable of independent thinking and making amazing stuff.
But people are dumb lambs, that follow whoever spouts the loudest nonsense.
That's why.

Ok, ill bite. The issue people have with woke elements in media generally (even if not major in BG3), is that they often feel tacked on without adding depth, almost like placeholders rather than meaningful character development.

When these elements are overly emphasized, and it feels like theyre there simply to signal certain ideologies, it distracts from immersion and storytelling.

This trend is largely fueled by market forces, with big entities and investors pushing DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) to appeal broadly, yet it often comes off as forced or shallow to many fans.

This in turn leads fans to feel they are not getting authentic stories, but rather ideological "messages" at the expense of what we hold dear the most, the narrative quality.

Hope that brought some clarity to you.

Normal people are fed up with your intrusive ideology pushed down our throats. It twist and destroy franchises with it's shallow and patronizing propaganda. You want to be a were-pony trans-alien? fine, we don't care. Just don't bother us with your nonsense. All it does is turns people against you. If escalation continues, It will turns ugly, it always does.

Can straightness or whiteness be tacked on? I know that for many people existence of minorities is a political statement on its own but can you do it the opposite way? Also considering the fact that BG3 has its gays and pronouns can you point me to what investor exactly made Larian add them?

Is there any game that forces you to be trans?

Oh yeah. I forgot about those. Bit of a shame that War for Cybertron games are abandonware now.

NeeLot, we were discussing trends across gaming and multimedia, not BG3 specifically, so keep that focus on the bigger picture. The fact is, many people are hoping to finally move beyond identity politics and constant labeling. Its divisive and, as recent elections showed, it doesnt resonate with most people. Yet certain groups keep tripling down on it instead of taking the hint.

No alphabet mode seems the only gigachad mode, anything else are just QoL modes and subclasses.
Bg3 isn’t really suited for 13+ levels spells and etc, new races/classes are good idea so far.

Agreed. You hit 12 in Act 3 and even that seems too much.

Yes, constant discussions about udentity politics can get tiring, except it's the anti-woke crowd that keeps ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about minorities in media.

It could be ok if:
1) Every single act 3 enemy has lvl 12 as a default + max equipment.
2) Every single magic user has lvl 6 spells and etc. seeing how Lorroakan can only cast simple spells and counter spell is a bit laughable (even more since you already had anti mage silence, weapons and even arrows, his legendary nuke spell seems pointless after that).
3) Everyone has an alert spell, fighters and rogues have 4 feats.
4) Archers use unique arrows, every single unique one, 4 melee users? -> double black powder arrow can fix it, magic users? -> silence arrow and etc.

That’s all I guess, imagine Shar’s temple fight if all 10+ users will be dangerous max level users instead of “just cast darkness” while you do you have a black hole + massive stun as an illithid.

Exactly, when corpos stop pushing a narrative purely for the sake of it, realizing it doesn’t bring the long-term profits they hoped for, the anti-woke crowd will happily retreat to the sidelines. Then, just maybe, we’ll start getting more quality, immersive products like we did in the 2000s.

Or you know... stop being a crybaby when you see a trans person on the screen. Also I love the 2000s, the decade when cRPGs were in their steepest decline.
