End game bug

I arrived at the Emperor with the Orphic hammer and I thought about freeing Orpheus, but after the dialogue it did not sound like a good idea, since the best ending I already had in the previous play trough I decided to give the stones again to Emperor, but he just disappears exactly when Lae'zel leave the party. One time cut-scene kind of started, but after that we all died and rest of the time the guy just disappears. I was reading that you can defeat Lae'zel (knock her out) and you continue with quest as others have written on Reddit, but for me nothing happens and I stay trapped near Orpheus.
Not even going on the rant about other things, there should have been more options, but it would have been nice to be able to finish the game, instead - either you get disappearing Emperor or a cut scene with him leaving me to die.
Good thing I completed it already once.

Are you sure you picked the correct choice? It sounds like you took one of the routes that ends up ending the game right then and there.

That scene is bugged and you can exploit it without losing anyone transforming into mindflayer. Just accept the tadploe from the emperor then manipulate and reject hım. He will join the Netherbrain, free Orpheus and tell him you will become a Mind Flayer instead of him.

Yes, I saw that choice, did not like it though. But I guess you are right, should have done it differently. I kind of thought about freeing Orpheus but he seems such an AHole that I decided against it. And also, if you free him, but offer him to become mindflayer (spoiler) he kills himself in the end anyway, so the Emperor choice is pretty much the same. There are still things to try out, will do it in the next run sometime in the future.
