When will there be 50% sale?
I know that this is a silly question if you consider that this game is still really popular, but i am literally itching to play. I know that this game worth even the full price, but for me even on current promotion it is kinda expensive, so that`s why im waiting for bigger one. Is there even a slight chance that it would get this promotion next year? Please give me hope guys...

If you pay attention long enough on Steam you will notice a pattern. Steam obviously sets terms that to be on their storefront every game that passes a sale's threshold, and a time period sense official release must be at 50% off on their large sales. While Indie, and niche struggle with the threshold any mainstream AAA that doesn't boom passes it before the time period is up. The time period is about a year putting Baldur's Gate 3 in a grey area. It might be 50% off during the winter sale. It will be 50% off by the next summer sale.

That is really helpful, thanks! I really hope that it's being 50% off on the winter sale would be the case, that would be just wonderful

It won't be. And I would not get your hopes up for it to be 50% off next year's summer sale.

Just buy it already. It's a awesome game. I have 1500+ hrs in the game. Well worth the full price.

Unfortunately at the moment my budget does not allow me to spend that much money on games, i would've bought it immediately if I could. Played it on my xbox for some time, and I loved every second of this game. Unfortunately I don't have access anymore

A testable prediction. Drop by next summer for your "I told you so" points.

What? You completely made that up.

Games go on sale at 50% off when their publisher decides that that's the optimal price-to-sales ratio. That may be within months, it may take years, or it may never happen. There are no secret Steam developer terms that mandate a sale, ever, and certainly not a specific discount at a specific sales threshold.

Prepare to be disappointed.

As stated I don't have to make my point as it was set up to prove itself already. However stop and think about it how could the major Steam sales get so large if it was an entirely manual process?

Please. My company does stuff like that every month. It's just not that hard to do.

Because Publishers are given advance notice and tend to want to opt into big sales like that. Why do you think that's so hard to believe?

Effectively, and literally dead companies opt into sales? Again this isn't a point that needs to be argued

You could save $10 a month and afford it in six months. And it would still be sooner than if you waited for a sale.

If you take as reference GotY of the previous year, not anytime soon. Elden Ring was discounted last Winter sale 40% off and since than only twice 30%. BG3 never got better than 20% off, so with luck it might be possible to get 30% on the next Winter sale (so around next Xmas). For 50% off, probably 2-4 years depending on the sales.

Either over time, when sales drop or when better rpg´s are being released. All of this could take quite a while.
