But Idiots like sweet baby inc and such threatened the developer to do a smear campaign if they don't get payed to give advice how to ruin their game with woke ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. And then bad articles for example from IGN with lies and false accusations about the developer appeared. I guess metacritic and open critic is influenced by those directly or indirectly.
While I expect that most steam reviews are real reviews by real players.
That's it, take your conclusion.
On the other hand this game has plenty of woke ♥♥♥♥, like the typical strong women, gender madness (female can have ♥♥♥♥♥ and so on), pronouns, gay sex and so on...
But even despite all that (which makes it much worse than it could be). The game is still a good game.
Well made story, plenty of decisions that make differences, interesting deep combat (might not be for everyone, because round based), good graphics, nice game to play with others, it's definitely what AAA once stood for...
In the end it's up to you.
I myself had fun with Baldurs gate for the most part (but I liked Divinity Original Sin which is similar, too) and I am interested in Wu Kong, too and will definetly not care what some stupid critics / game journalists write but at the moment there are some other games I want to finish first.
Get this - more playtime overall with replayability.
If I were you, I would consider both as suspicious and hardly anything on the internet trustworthy. What you need is a friend who has the same taste as you and can give you a recommendation on the game they already played, whether this or that. Not game magazine reviews who get paid for their relationships with publishers nor gamers who are unexperienced to review something.
By the end of the day it is your subjective taste which should set the bar, not some parameters mixed up with someone elses prejudices and tastes.
Ask differently to get better feedback like, name five games of each genre you like and three games you played from that genre you disliked - that way others can reply to you with examples like how I compare Baldur's Gate 3 with Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic.
It's weird how there was never any evidence of what Thomas was talking about being real. They just run away when you ask to see it.
Actually, it's not weird at all.
As for the topic, yeah, between underserved customers and culture warriors, there isn't too much mystery about the scores. My understanding is that BMW is a decent game,. I'll never know myself, since the last thing I need in my life is another soulslike.
