Not an opinionated thing, 'me telling you that Win 10 is the better choice'. Online searches give an embarrassingly high return for 'Windows 11 performance issues'. That's what happens when you deliberately tell your software guys to bake ads and AI into an OS.
I personally hate the whole 'setting up a computer with another OS' thing, but Win 10 is what actually works. If you feel like it's worth the time (pretty much your entire day if OCD) then go back to 10, prolly yeah.
Edit:
Seems the [REDACTED] mods deleted one of my later comments calling out someone for making disingenuous and unintelligent comments.
To paraphrase my purged comment: Do not ever even imply that Adware 11 is a more stable OS, you are clogging threads with blatant misinformation as if it were a tumor. Win 10 is objectively more stable, not to mention RECOMMENDED in this specific game's product page.
I'm glad this is the top comment so that people will read this first and not be mislead by other comments that amount to drivel.
IT is the other way around. It works more stable with Windows 11
But in the end there should barely be a difference related to this game.
Still Windows 11 by itself heavily sucks (for other reasons) and it is absolutely not recommend to install nor to use it at all...
mods or a buggy install of the game or the OS.. ?
I play BG3 with highest settings, I have no knowledge of the inner workings of my PC. I pay for a Repair/Replace Contract, if it works great, if it breaks, it gets sent of to get repaired etc, if its borked I get a new PC. :D
Game requirements & recommendations are from the bottom up. Requirements are the bottom (the bare minimum to run it), then Recommended are a higher tier (better performance). If you surpass the Recommended specs, you should be fine (for obvious reasons). Win 11 is the next OS after Win 10, so it surpasses the OS recommendation.
Might I also suggest you spend 10 minutes learning how to turn the 'adware' off. I certainly got a lot of crud on a new system but I get none of it now. Took about a day to work out how to knock it all down.
I've been using Windows since Windows 3.0 and this comment is not even remotely accurate. My last Windows 10 ran a business, CNC/laser equipment (and my games) for nearly 5 years. It was never reinstalled in that time. It only just got handed down to my kids and it got a refresh.
Most of the time, it's people putting too much ♥♥♥♥♥ on their machine, not doing updates, clogging up the drives, operating a dirty machine and installing to much 'utliity' software that messes the OS up. It's rarely the OS.
