Duo Honor Mode

I'm about to start a new playthrough, and I've decided to run it as a duo. I can't make up my mind though on who to use in the party.

Karlach / Wyll, Durge / Astarion, and Gith Tav / Lae'zel all seem promising.

Any other suggestions for good duo characters?

what's your plan for Orin's ? 12 stacks if you aren't durge

Any are fine as the characters are all fun to have along with and respec is possible.

I recommend Dark Urge Gith and Karlach

No, I've completed two prior runs, both with a full party.

If it isn't Durge, one of the two will likely need to burst her down with magic missiles into Curriculum of Strategy. It's either that, or figure out a highly efficient way to chuck 5 sanctuaried folks off a ledge.

If it isn't Durge, one of the two will likely need to burst her down with magic missiles into Curriculum of Strategy. It's either that, or figure out a highly efficient way to chuck 5 sanctuaried folks off a ledge.

Make sure then, if you take any other than Karlach, it is often worth to start with them as origin character. That way you can e.g. collect the bonus stuff for Gale. Astarion's ascension is kinda must for the power boost and he also has some interesting cutscenes.

Hireling. You will not have any flak with your decisions. You can edit their appearance and respec. them as you see fit. Can even make them look like your char's twin.

You could as well just start with two custom avatars. But any more than two in a team would deny the idea of "doing Honour Mode with a duo".

True. That would require a Coop session. It would be simpler just hire a Hireling. And it would not be hard at all with the game's appearance function to make your char's twin. The only thing lacking would be being able to make your Hireling's background trait.

True. That would require a Coop session. It would be simpler just hire a Hireling. And it would not be hard at all with the game's appearance function to make your char's twin. The only thing lacking would be being able to make your Hireling's background trait.

It is actually equally easy, if you consider full customisation. As mentioned before: Dark Urge plus origin character is more beneficial for such a run. And setting up a coop session is just starting the client twice, so no big deal.

Well, thanks for the feedback. But it is not something I would do anyway. Other than story for the Origin chars, I don't see how it would more beneficial than a Hireling. Not when it comes to combat at least.
