make backups ?
C:\Users\[username]\Gaming\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public\Savegames\
I actually managed to solve the issue. I deleted my local corrupted files and now that I sytart up the game the save file can once again be loaded so I am back in track! ;)
In Honor Mode you only get one save. So coping it is a way of bookmarking where you were at.
Larian made a genious decision to lock features and balance changes behind an Ironman mode. I played Honor for the legendary actions and nerfs to OP ♥♥♥♥ and I played it "dishonorably" because I don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about Ironman mode in a game like this.
But as mentioned, by removing the local save files it was automatically reloaded from the cloud so issue was solved.
I usually play most games in ironman mode. I restart often instead of reloading. Some games are more forgiving than others, but this game is very forgiving and I don't really see an issue to play it without reloads. But it kinda sucka when the save is lost due to reasons outside what happens in the game.
You paid near 60 bucks for this game, play it how ever you want. My Dis Honorable comment was made in Jest.
In Honor Mode they make it so you cant do some of the fun things like turning the Orthons cat against him in the Gantlet of Shar. or lock picking Balthazars door so he has to fight the Dark Justicers. There are ways around it, but play how you like it.
