Auto-battle
That always matters for me in games like this - is there an auto-battle?

All turn-based games in the world are divided into exactly 2 types.

The first are those where the lack of an auto-battle does not bother or bothers, but is bearable.
This is Phoenix Point or X-COM for example, because of their specific combat.
Divinity Original Sin 2, because there almost every fight is well-directed manually, unique and does not get boring.

The second are ALWAYS have a bunch of filler fights, random encounters and other despondency.
For example, Solata Crown of the Magister: it becomes stuffy quite quickly and for half the game there is only one fight that is really memorable (Aksha).

So, is there an auto-battle and what type does this game belong to?

there is absolutely nothing like what you describe in this game, it would completely ruin the game. hope that helps.

There's a mod that gives all of your characters a battle AI so they fight on their own, like Pathfinder basically.

The term autobattle is mostly used in 4x strategy games and almost always means that an algorithm determines the outcome of a battle while using (hidden) stats of the involved units. Autobattle resolves the battle almost instantaniously, no user input is required and only the result of the battle is displayed.

JA 3 has this kind of autobattle because fights can get very repetitive. BG 3 belongs to your first category.

Pathfinder and Pillars does have it and a good one actually
Where Pathfinder and Pillars 2 does have this?
I have never seen this option in those games.

Combat happens only on foot, no automobiles are involved at any point in the game.
