Necromancy of Thay and Gale

Is his dialogue option to give him the book removed? I have both the book and the amethyst put on it, still, no dialogue option to give him the book.

Think you need to slot the gem in first and then he'll ask for it

I think it was removed. You can only give it to Astarion from my experience. I did that multiple times and never got the option to give it to Gale.

I think you can just put it in Gale's inventory and make him use it instead. That's how I usually did it with Astarion at least.
