Is it possible to kill the Nightsong without Shadowheart?
Planning on sacrificing Shadowheart to Booaal, so she won't be present for the Nightsong section.

Would this lock me into the whole "Nightsong lifts the shadow curse and joins my camp" thing permanently with no way out? Or can i kill her / get rid of her some other way?

Does letting Balthazar take her prevent the shadow curse from lifting?

You can kill her without Shadowheart, but this causes Shadowheart to leave your party permanently because you denied her of her choices.

I have never let Balthazar live. To lift the Shadow Curse you need the Night Song, Isobel and Halsin alive. If you do the quest and Then the Nightsong is still alive after you beat Mykul, when you advance to act 3 the curse will be lifted.

Thats a lie. To lift the curse you only need to defeat the Act 2 end boss and Halsin to do his job. Nightsong has no relations to the curse whatsoever.

This isn't true. The Nightsong can only be permanently killed by someone who's trying to ascend to be a Dark Justiciar. Only Shadowheart qualifies.

I consider this a design flaw. A Shar-worshipping Tav with the proper qualifications should be able to complete the ritual too.

AFAIK the Nightsong doesn't have anything to do with the Shadow Curse..

Then kill her, I bet you can not lift the curse if she is dead.

You need Isobel, Nightsong and Halsin alive to lift the curse. This I know!

Shar wont let anyone kill the Nightsong, only Shadowheart.

Isobel isn't actually a requirement, although working things out without her isn't easy.

Well dang, it sounds like if i sacrifice Shadowheart, i'm stuck with the Nightsong being alive and possibly hanging out at my camp, which i don't want.

And from what I've seen, apparently you can't go back to the underdark after entering the shadowfell in night 2, so i can't do Nightsong first and then go to Booaal... And as far as i know there's no way to permakill Shadowheart other then him. 🤔

In my extinction run (every non-randomized NPC dead either directly or indirectly), I missed the Nightsong because I had Tav kill Shadowheart too early and the Nightsong stated that the Spear might as well be a toothpick in my Tav's hands or some such.

(The narrator made some sad comment about the curse being left behind and maybe something could've been done, but Isobel and Halsin were both dead, and I don't know if their absence affected things.)

You can go back to Act 1 locations from Act 2.

yeah, last i heard though, a majority of the underdark isn't included once you visit the shadowfell. You can go to act 1 surface and grimforge, but the rest of the underdark isn't available for some reason.

If that's untrue and someone can correct me on that then great, but that's just the info i have right now.

Yeah extinction run is what i'm going for too. Still very early in, only just got to the Grove for the first time. (Had to spare a Intellect Devourer because it upset Us, and the two Cambians because i was almost dead at that point. But that ship was crashing, so i figure they all died in the crash.)
