How do I read a Crash file?
I'm troubleshooting my mods, trying to find the problem mod/mods. I did a batch, NG'ed and after the cutscene, I crashed instead of the Creation menus.

So, I found a crash log, a dmp file. although oddly the date on it is tomorrow. But I can't read it. How do I find out what caused this crash?

Try opening it in a text editor. If it is what I think it is, that will do it.

I tried Notepad, doesn't work. https://pastebin.com/jLGZtNa7

It must work with something else. That's the only file in the folder recently that says Crash in it.

ok. Then try these instructions. I had hoped they were not expecting you to use a debugger and had rolled it up to text :(

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/windows-client/performance/read-small-memory-dump-file

The instructions are a bit over the top, but the command line stuff (cmd) should do it if its one of THOSE dump files. It could be something else, and this may not work.
