New Game+ (plus) mode
Will there be a new game plus mode? I want to replay the game to try other story lines and what not. But want to keep my stats and items from a previous play through.

Or is there a mod that would allow that?

This isn't the kind of game that has a mode like that.

There's probably a mod for it already or there will be one.

No.

Just start over as dark urge, another class or one of your companions.

This game wouldn’t be fun if you kept all your gear and stats from previous plays. New Game+ will never be a part of the official game. If it is that important to you there are a number of unsupported mods that simply let you cheat which is essentially what a New Game+ mode would be for this game. This game is already too easy even on Honour mode so New Game+ would suck.

I think this is an excellent idea, the game really needs some kind of post-game. Investing so much time and effort into a character and then having to throw it away is disappointing, in my opinion.

A New-Game + could give a lot of life to the game in the long run and at the same time it could help players perfect the builds of the whole team, which unfortunately is not possible at the moment.

In addition to the above, the game could rescale the level and difficulty of the new-game for level 12 characters and in this way have a challenging but well-balanced experience, which may not happen if the player is too low or too high at the beginning.

Something that would also be great is to add a coliseum to defeat past bosses, in this coliseum we could get something to improve weapons and armor to legendary level and in this way have a way to further perfect our characters. Maybe also create personalized weapons and armor?

This topic has been asked before with the same answers as already seen.

In short. There isn't and won't be a NG+ except by mods. People have various opinions on why it should and shouldn't have it. The fact remains that Larian's not going to do it. Do we need another thread on this or should we start stickying these things? (Not that anyone would read them there, either.)

In dnd its hard to balance an encounter against 12th level characters, even harder in video games.
dont even get started on pathfinder wotr, that balancing is the worst ive seen

What would an NG+ version of Act 1 even look like?

Would you be so kind as to tell me which developer said they wouldn't add it?

Obviously in a board game balancing everything for level 12 players must be more difficult, but in a video game there are more tools to facilitate the balance, I fully trust that the developers could do the job if they wanted to.

Or learn appreciate an RPG typical replay value, replay with different builds and choices.

The pushback ITT is kind of weird. I can understand saying "there won't be an official NG+ because Larian hasn't stated they planned to make one".

But the lack of imagination that a NG+ is possible or desirable? Like, if you don't want one, cool. Don't play the already existing NG+ mods.

  • scaled up enemy health
  • new enemy encounters
  • new enemies in old encounters
  • enemies have expanded abilities
  • new magic items to find

That's all OP is asking for and are all made possible with mods. Enemy and loot randomizers already accomplish part of this. Tack on a "multiclass to level 20" mod and boom, a functional NG+.

It is always people who know nothing about development who think implementing this is 'quick and easy'.

Well, it's easy if good gameplay isn't a goal.
