I think most mods are run through the mod manager, In some cases it's simple as dragging a folder after you unzipped it over to the games folders on Nexus most mods have a file preview that kind of shows you where the folder or mod should be placed.

To be honest I think the latest patch has a release window in September and one of the updates of note are steam work shop mod support so there is a good chance you'll see most nexus mods on steam soon and even better ones since steam doesn't seem to censor mods like Nexus does.

In short playing the game with mods now might give you a week or three at most before the update will break most mods on Nexus.

I guarantee you, if you actually follow the video, you will have working mods by then end of it.

Isn’t this one of the points of patch 7? A mod manager included in the game now?

thank god, steam workshop is much better than downloading a stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mod, who ever decided to make moding so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ complicated need to be shot in the head

It seems I might be wrong with it being Steam workshop but it will be Larians own mod manager which I'm going to assume still has to be better then how it's handled through Nexus and BG3 Mod manager tool.

Porbably something like the common mod.io implementation which you can see in other games which support multiplatform distributions.

Until then one can use this as orientation

Personally I find BG3ModManager the easiest and most reliable way to install mods for this game.
And trust me, I need easy when it comes to mods lol.

Not all mods are drag and drop, so read the instructions on the mod's page.

But it sounds like your best bet is to wait til the patch, since we're ALL going to have to figure out how to use whatever the new system is. It should be much easier.
