Iron Throne question.
I'm just about ready to start punching holes in the wall over this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ encounter. I am PISSED OFF. Can somebody please just tell me if Duke Ravengard is supposed to just stand there the entire time or not. PLEASE. I am begging for an answer. I can't use dimension door on him, I can't shove him for some reason, I've read that Remove Curse doesn't work but I've yet to try that so hopefully that will do it and I got close to getting the Omeluum strat to work, but that's beside the point. I WILL keep at it until I free everybody but I just need to know if this is supposed to happen. This single encounter has almost ruined my enjoyment of this entire game. I honestly have very little motivation to pick it back up again at this point, I am really really disappointed.

Update: None of it worked. It's just broken. Reloading doesn't work. Telekinesis doesn't work, dimension door doesn't work, remove curse doesn't work, Omeluum doesn't work. None of it works. It's broken. This has well and truly ruined my experience. I am done with this game.

Guess I'll mod and just cheat, why not at this point?

It's been a while since I did this one, but Dimension Door definitely worked on him.

The duke is an active follower you can control. He can open doors, equip weapons and otherwise be useful in the rescue.

Sounds like a bug because the Iron Thone is a highlight for my playthroughs.

I had oodles of fun with this one. And the Duke was perfectly controllable for me. So yeah, might be some sort of bug.

well it depends on wyll and mizora. If you broke wylls pact with mizora she curses him , but usually you can use dimension door or telekinisis on him.

Unless something is bugged, the Duke should become a controllable NPC for you once you open his prison. But like all your other chars, he won't move until it's his "turn".

Iron Throne can be a bit slow, as all your chars take their turn, then the freed gnomes running for the sub take theirs, and then the sahuagin take theirs.

Spoilers? As noted above, you might want to heal him up a bit if you broke Wyll's pact with Mizora, and get ready to save him from some exploding spiders.

Awesome, thanks guys just needed to know. There's still some proposed fixes I haven't tried so I'll give them a whirl, not admitting defeat on this by any means I'm just really ♥♥♥♥ off that this pretty easy encounter (easy after running it a dozen times now) has become so unbelievably frustrating. So I broke the pact with Mizora but apparently he's still supposed to be movable after a turn or so, but his fiendish obedience debuff NEVER ends for some reason. Something has caused this, I'm not sure what, maybe it's the fact I start with 8 summons and the game is just stroking out because of the size of the initiative order or something. Even on the few reloads (going back and relaunching the entire instance numerous times) where he becomes "controllable" the debuff never goes away so I can never get him to move. I can't shove him because he's friendly (I don't see why that's an issue, let me shove him anyway) and I can't use dimension door because he's an unwilling target while the debuff is active, still haven't managed to get Omeluum to him in time, I just need to make it to him 1 turn sooner it is so tantalisingly achievable. I'll just try the telekinesis strat next time hopefully that'll get it done. Whatever the cause or solution is doesn't matter I WILL save all these bozos, but it's a relief to know this wasn't intentional.

Yeah, sounds like a bug. Maybe you could try breaking it with Dispel Evil and Good?

If I remember correctly he froze up on me to but I threw him which not only moved him but also snapped him out of the bug so he moved again. Also had a lot of summons btw.

HOW!? How can you throw him? Everything I try it just says he cannot be moved by force. Can't shove him, can't teleport him, can't throw him, can't blast him NOTHING. The only thing that "works" is Omeluum but then Mizora will just summon a bunch of spiders which then explode and kill all of the Gondians in the sub. There's no way to win for me. I've tried EVERYTHING. I don't know why this is happening.

Just heal him on the turn you free him.

I don't bother trying to save them all. Just save the majority that are in the two rooms.

Yeah I've done that too, sadly healing him accomplishes nothing. He just stands there, totally immovable by anything except Omeluum but then spiders spawn in the sub and kill the Gondians. Everyone else seems to get a fair shot, or even an unfair shot, at a flawless victory while I'm stuck with this mess for some reason I can't figure out. I've essentially won this encounter over two dozen times now, it's actually quite easy if it works the way it's intended to. Completely relaunched it aswell by going back several saves, even going as far back as several hours of progression. I even went back to before I broke the pact with Mizora to relaunch it. Over two dozen attempts where I have tried everything I could think of and everything anyone else can think of and I cannot get the flawless win that I have earned. My only option now is to just cheat which makes me not want to play anymore. I am just really disappointed this has happened, it's ruined the whole game for me. It's like a fly in my soup it's really soured me on the entire thing.

Have you tried teleporting him to the sub after the spiders have spawned?

I can't, the only way I can get the spiders to spawn is to teleport him using Omeluum. He won't move. He literally will not move and cannot be moved by any other means. He never leaves his cell.

Wait, do you not get dialogue with him and Mizora appearing?

Nope. Only happens after I use Omeluum to teleport him directly to the sub. I open the cell, Mizora laughs, there's some ambient lines where he mentions the devil that took his son and then he stands there immovable for the rest of the encounter always under the effect of Fiendish Obedience. Try shoving, throwing, eldritch blasting, dimension door, remove curse, telekinesis you name it I've tried it. Omeluum is the only one who can get him out and the result is dropping napalm on the people I've just busted my arse to rescue.
