its the best way the cheat the games bounded accuracy mechanic
It's broken, but far from the only way to play Barb.
The gear you want is mostly in Act 1. A ring sold by the starting guy in the grove, a set of gloves for the quest to save the guy from the mushrooms in the underground area .
And yes, the best part about it is the accuracy bonuses.
Barb or Monk.
go buy the "returning spear" from the goblin vendor. If items aren't marked as "thrown" you get no bonuses.
Tavern brawler dmg was nerfed in patch 5 but it is still very good.
for barbarian you go beserker as you get an attack as a bonus action. So at level 5 when you get extra attack you get 3 throws per turn ( 2 normal 1 from frenzied rage).
As everyone stated above the "to hit" mechanic will be around 90-95%, so you will basically NEVER miss
If you dont know what "bounded accuracy" means .it is the ability to land a strike. The game essentially never lets you go below (unless there are special conditions)30% or above 75% to hit. Tavern brawler breaks this as it adds your STR modifier 2 times to both to hit and dmg. so if you had 18 str, thats +4 to hit, with Tavern Brawler it is now +8
throw build absolutely destroy the game in act 1 and 2
Im pretty sure you can throw Salami for some serious bludgeoning damage
3 level dip into eldritch knight gets you a few spell slots for shield and turns all your bound weapons into returning weapons.
It also gets you some other really nice stuff like a fightning style, second wind, action surge etc...
My recommandation: DON'T play an optimized throw build, but use it to make a fun build work (ex: barbarian berserk with only his fists and enemies for weapons, spore druid weapon thrower for only one launch per turn, but a deadly one...)
