This will be my third attempt recruiting Minthara WITHOUT betraying the grove... why is this still so hard to do?

What the title says, essentially. I've wanted to recruit Minthara for eons, but DESPITE only knocking her out at the goblin camp, she's still nowhere in Moonrise when I get there. I don't want to have to betray the tieflings nor the druids. I just want my drow babe, why does it have to be so difficult xD

The easiest and simplest way to recruit her now is to just knock her out during the battle for the Grove, as Larian patched it in with the recent hotfixes.

Doing it at the Goblin camp requires specific steps to be followed, unlike the Grove battle which is a straight-forward knockout.

My understanding is you are supposed to play along with her, trick her into leading an assault on the grove, then knock her out at that battle.

When going to Moonrise, you're supposed to let The Absolute people guide you to Moonrise, and she should be there then.

Okay, so you basically play along and then once you get to the grove, you take the druids and tieflings side, and THEN knock her out instead? THANK YOU!

The above info is incorrect; one does not have to follow Kar'niss (the drider) to Moonrise, as nothing in ACT II is related to Minthara being at Moonrise.

Knock her out at the Grove battle and that's it, she will be at Moonrise. That's all it requires, nothing else.

I've recruited her just fine by KOing her at the gobbo camp. Only two key things to focus on: don't make her permanently hostile, and don't LR after you KO her until you've rescued Halsin and completed his quest.

All you have to do is KO her the goblin camp, old tricks like avoiding permanently hostility are not needed anymore.

If you want to be safe, make sure you clear the camp’s other leaders before long resting.

There ought to be a way to 'redeem' her in the goblin camp (even if you still have to rescue her at Moonrise).

I don't know what it is I have done wrong twice by now. I've always just knocked her out and then figured I'd see her at Moonrise. But each time she's just not there... so I'm knocking her out at the grove instead like someone suggested.

they key most people miss here is you CANNOT long rest.

To complete Halsins quest you have to kill dror Rasglin and the goblin priestess (thats 3 big fights). your usually level 4 around this time. Those fights are VERY hard early as you dont have many spell slots to use so long resting is required often

If you long rest AT ANY TIME after knocking out Minty until you've completed Halsins quest (kill the goblin leaders) she is gone forever

There is also a bug I have encountered 2 times when rescuing Minty from the jail. If you choose to fight your way out Minthara can bug and will not speak to you (no dialogue options) At this point you can try using console commands but it still failed for me twice

If you rescue her convince her to act as your slave and throw and invis pot on her and walk her out of Moonrise

Nope, you can knock her out, then long rest, and then free Halsin just fine. Source? That's the order I do it in every time and it's worked every time safe for the instance where I used Wyvern poison and forgot that it would keep harming her after she's fallen unconscious.

Steal the chest near her, she will aggro, temp hostile, (toggle non lethal attack) (melee) knock her out leaving her with 1 HP, and then KILL everything else in the room.
Kill all the rest of the gobbies and leaders. Rescue Halsin.
Once this is done you can return to the Grove , talk to Zevlor (meet at camp later) and Halsin. You can then go to camp, and party.
After the party i do all the Underdark, then go through the Mountain Pass.
I always get Minthara , after saving her when she is imprisoned.

What is hard about that? Just follow the steps properly

then you can go for a quick check as well with saving the game, unless you play honour mode. It might have been even simpler by now then it was back then with the guide. Though I can only guarantee as written in the guide.
