Mac Os Act 3
Hi,
Im moving away from my gaming PC this September because of collage, and wanted to finish Baldurs gate on my Mac as its supported on it. I heard it runs "well" till the big act 3, have they updated the game to fix the issue or is this just a mac hardware problem? I want to get sucked into the game, but scare for it to not work till the end of the campaign.

Thank you!

I have no problems with Act 3 on my Mac - haven't seen any issues. (I've run into a bug or two, but I don't think they are Mac specific.)

Oh, what Mac are you using? I have the M1 2020 model, haven't played games on it too much. What settings are you running for a smooth experience?

I'm using a M2 model ... I tend to run graphics options at medium, I don't try and push things excessively (no real need to). I do tend to notice there are cases where the audio doesn't perfectly sync with the cutscene animations, but other than that ,,,,

I had a big framerate drop on my admittedly crappy PC. It's a crowded city, and more taxing than any other area.

On the plus side, the nice thing about turn-based combat is that bad framerates can't really hurt you.

Oh okay, so you would say that the game is fully playable from start to finish on a mac? :)

I'm running a 2021 M1 macbook pro and Act3 runs. It doesn't run 'great' but it is definitely playable. I get 30-35 FPS in general.

Oh okay, is Act 3 the most demanding part of the game, when it comes to performance etc. ? As long and the game runs fine between stable 40-60 and drops there im fine with it. Whats your overall experience with the performance on the M1 mac?
