Dragonborns look pretty derpy
I love playing Dragonborn but I'm not gonna lie, their faces just look really strange. Not necessarily ugly, although a couple of them definitely are at least to me. The first option for male Dragonborn is the only one that sits right for me, but even that still manages to come off as weird looking in a lot of cutscenes. It's a lot better with Durge for sure, but everywhere else? Can't take it seriously. Ironically the worst one however was a Durge specific scene in Act 1 where you come across a hyena that's about to give birth to a Gnoll, and Durge reacts to it with pure bliss. That one just straight up looks terrible. Probably the worst one in the game.
Can't wait for mod support so modders can add stuff for Dragonborn. Better faces, more faces, scars, etc.. They definitely need it.

It's not just dragonborns/durge, the facial animations for all custom characters look terrible in cutscenes.

I recommend a mod called "Stoic Expressions". It makes it so that Tav doesn't smile or cower in every single cutscene.

Just fixing a sentence.

I have to disagree. The Dragonborn reactions are bit off, a consequence of mapping human facial expressions on a lizard's head, but in general I am very fond of the facial expressions in this game. Much as I might love something like, say, Mass Effect it did become a little off-putting that Shepard can't muster anything more dramatic than a raised eyebrow. I appreciate having a hero who looks like they're affected by things around them.

I'll try that and see if it fixes it. I just hope it doesn't change a lot of the Durge cutscenes because a lot of them genuinely look good, at least with Bhaal related stuff anyway.

Never mind then. Is there a mod to fix the Dragonborn expressions? Also would like a fix for the bad lip sync for evil ending Durge/Tav.

Personally i wish there was the ability to customize your characters personality (Just like 2-3 options, from stoic to emotional) ,which would change how your character responds with facial expressions and their few voice lines out of dialogue. I dont really like it when my big drow oath of vengeance paladin Tav looks like he filled his underwear when anything scary/gross happens in dialogue.

I put a hat on mine early one game, and I laughed so hard for like 5 minutes until I couldn't take looking at it anymore.

yeah the hats look strange on them. in my current playthrough as durge ive got him wearing a wizard hat and it's just bizarre to look at. thank goodness you can hide it.

Yes, hats made for what are basically humans wearing make-up look strange on the only species that doesn't look like that. Same with facial expressions and everything else.

Yeah, hats and helms on dragonborn look like total crap. I so tried to find a decent hat for my dragonborn bard, but they all looked so awful, thank the stars for the hide helm feature.
