But now im slowly doing a durge playthrough but doesnt seem like a hugely different game or anything but its fun.
I like the game a lot and there's fun stuff to find. Usually wait a month or so between runs so I don't burn myself out on it.
Honestly you'd get your money's worth finishing it once anyway, though.
The problem is I didn't like this evil play, it's like my character get gradually corrupted loosing more and more interest.
And this replay wasn't even a chained replay, and for that the cause is my first pay last just too long, like 200H.
The flawed Starfield did much better with 3 full chained plays, rather rare for me (I don't mean replay after months or years. I'm not saying SF is better than BG3. :-)
right now I'm with Tav again as a revenge paladin
I'm playing the three games well.
And I want to start my fourth one, which is honor mode, making a totally evil build with dark urge, and take advantage of the big update and say goodbye to the game :), although it will hurt, I have many games to play, and I'm interested in playing countless ways, as an evil oathbreaker, a githyanki, living Gale's story in the first person, playing as a wyll, (here I would like to play as a warlock, but I would do two in one, warlock and wyll). I would do wyll simply because I don't really like the story and giving it so much dialogue so I prefer to play it in first person hahaha. But, unfortunately I probably won't do all of this, it consumes a lot of my time from other Baldurs Gate 3 games. And I'm going to have to be left with the anger of having wanted to play in a thousand different ways, since I really want to play in many ways that interest me, as is a clergyman of Selune. And that will probably be my next and last game after honor, as a cleric of Selune.
Will play a Dark Urge playthrough after patch 7.
The friend I am playing with right now has not finished it yet. It's kind of her first playthrough and definitely her playthrough, so I am matching her rhythm, while playing with wild magic and not explaining it.
Halfling rogue
Githyanki sorcerer
Elf Dark Urge sorcerer
Wyll as a sorcerer
The game being relatively short (15-40 hours) helped.
First was a drow sorclock tav, who only allied with the rest of the party out of convenience and because she figured that taking on the task of getting rid of the tadpole would be suicide with extra steps. Well, Karlach and later Jaheira started to wear her down and she became a bit of a begrudging hero.
Second was a drow bardlock durge, who took her amnesia as a chance to start anew and made an effort to be good from the start, simply because she hated the fact that there was something inside her that pushed her towards being evil. Some mistakes were made in the pursuit of goodness, such as releasing 7000 vampire spawn with the airtight reasoning of "If I believe they can't control their bloodthirst, what right do I have to live?"
Third was a drow palalock Tav in a co-op playthrough, who once again was much closer to the evil side of the spectrum and never fully became good like her predecessors. Girl relished in torture, murder and manipulation and would have taken over the Absolute if given the chance, but sadly (or not so sadly) the tiefling she was travelling with was calling the shots in the end.
Forth was my Karlach-origin playthrough, in which I romanced Astarion and went to Avernus with him afterwards.
Fifth was Astarion to experience the same pairing I did before, but from the other side. For some reason I didn't get the chance to convince Karlach to go to Avernus with me and she died alone on the docks while I was hiding from the sun.
Sixth was a male drow durge, once again palalock, who, not knowing who he was prior to being tadpoled, was just glad not to be stuck in the underdark as a second-class citizen. He was a little rough around the edges, prone to anger, but not outright evil, and made an effort to resist the urge within, as well as letting the people around him know that he was driven to murder so that they could decide whether sticking close was worth the risk. Broke his oath early in act one, believing not to be worthy of it, and only reclaimed it after he killed Orin and rejected his father's heritage. My headcanon is that he became a harper after everything was over and stayed in close contact with Jaheira and Minsc.
Don't think I'll tire of this game anytime soon, because I am suffering from severe TTRPG withdrawal and BG3 scratches that itch. I have two co-op playthroughs going on with two different people, and a solo-playthrough that I'm using mostly to test out some mods for co-op.
