No idea why you cannot customize your dice from the Options menu; I'm sure most of us have that complaint.
But I don't know why these mods refuse to work. Others, like my camera mod (that lets you look up!) is just fine. The "highlight north" mod that makes that part of the mini-map red for easier reference works.
Anything not related to dice seems to function just fine.
If that doesnt work try vortex and make sure all your files are up to date. Other than that im just guessing and i'm farrrrrr from a mod expert
As you said you cannot select them from options menu as far as I know
Vortex.
I have that.
I've checked and re-checked the requirements and installation instructions for every mod, and it hasn't helped.
That still happens, though it doesn't crash the game so much as dump me back to the main menu.
Done that, too.
Believe me, if I hadn't tried all of the easy stuff first, I wouldn't have posted.
Yeah, same here.
Like I said, I have a mod (that isn't working) that puts an object in your inventory that lets you roll dice any time you like; the roll has no effect other than giving you the Customize Dice button whenever you like.
it took me a while but I needed mod fixer and script extender for one of my trans mog mods to work ( i had to DL it from github direct, the DL within bg mod manager was an older version). and because my party were all already wearing transmoged outfits from my steam cloud saves it crashed the game
And yes the crash was not a desktop crash, just back to game main menu
This should be easier; how mod support wasn't built in from the start boggles me. Did they think people wouldn't want to?
But it seems like every game doesn't just do it until an update that comes months later. It's weird.
Sorry I cant be of more help.
Im giving the "obvious" solutions because i dont know how far you've gone. I can tell you if you have all that its probably a missing json file or something dumb like that.
When i got my new comp i used my old internal HD and loaded from there ( had all my steam games on that drive.
This caused a WORLD of problems and ultimately had missing Dllwrite and json files so my script extender wasnt working. I had to wipe and reinstal game and I also now how 2 versions of steam on my comp...lmao...
Like I said , im no expert
I mean, that's more than possible; I've had tiny little persnickety details like that turn everything to
But I've spent hours purging, deleting, re-dowloading, complete reinstall of the game, et cetera, et certera, drek cetera. Searching the web for solutions.
I've tried every bleeping, censored, unprintable thing I can think of or have read... it just ain't werkin'.
I did have that problem with DLLwrite (again, hours ago, and I've since fixed it... I think); if I'm missing a json file, I'm unaware and the game isn't telling me.
Tried that, too. Hmph.
Well, I can't blame you; my knowledge begins and ends with modding ENB files in "Fallout 4"; for BG3, I'm completely in the woods.
But once you learned like 4 simple instructions the sky was the limit...
Most requests for help end like this thread has so far: nobody actually knows what to do about it. It's very annoying because there are some great looking dice skins out there, but BG3 just will not acknowledge that any mod related to dice exists.
And it's not just skins; it's that object that's supposed to be added to the inventory that lets you access the customization menu whenever you like. That doesn't work either, and that makes no sense.
Did you try the steps here?
https://gamerant.com/baldurs-gate-3-how-change-dice-appearance-all-skins-customization-bg3/
There aren't even steps there.
(EDIT: Well, that... or maybe it was asking me for action on something, but I didn't notice, and they basically didn't let you access any menus until you've resolved it, but I was still lookin'... You know. Maybe.)
But I've tried everything I can think of... even deactivating every mod and firing them up one by one, but to no avail; I have no idea what the problem is.
(EDIT 2: The Revenge: Launched with BGMM, but to no avail; still no dice skins available that didn't come with the game.)
