Why does this game feel like Tumblr enjoyers hijacked the IP
Seriously the tone and theme of this entire game are so off.

And when you contrast BGS3 with any other game in the IP what I say goes from hyperbole to glaringly obvious.

Genocide all around and everyone is trying to suck each other off.

Also, Divinity did not have the same "fluff" in the game, so why did Larian decide to go this "route" with the game?

I am not a die-hard fan of BG however I cannot be blind by the fact it clearly looks like this IP has been corrupted to appeal to a broader audience (cough consumer identity cough)

Were does it end? I wonder if the same design would work on a 40k game LOL

I guess Slaneesh was created to quarantine them.

When people use "glaringly obvious" or "surely" in opening statements, it is usually a sign that they exist in their own headspace to the exclusion of others.

5e has become less about dungeons and dragons and more about dress up and be who you want. Its not really a bg3 thing.

Nothing wrong with that mind, every one should have a place in a fantasy world, but I am waiting for the game to start to shift more towards the RPG fight bad guys vibe again.

Seems like its starting to go that way with the release of a high level 10-20 vecna campaign coming out soo, so hopefully we see more high level adventures :) and maybe a high level add on for bg3.

A business that makes it's profit by selling a product is ...trying to appeal to a "broader audience"???

WHAT'S THIS? Clearly this company is not even HIDING the fact they are trying to MAKE A PROFIT! And in a free market, too!

I think Congress should hold hearings on this, pronto.

Thanks for the real reply.

My buddy who is more into DND said a similar thing with 5E.

Like I stated in OP, I am not really into the scenes myself but just a bystander.

Just was a little odd coming from previous titles such as Dark Alliance 1/2 and you know.. BG1/2 and all of which has an extremely dark and RPGesk tone, where in BG3 it is like you stated, more of a game to play and drink with friends.

It feels really silly and campy, and trying to play it single player is really hard.

With friends it was way more fun than Divinity, as the campyness is pretty lol worthy with other people.

Like watching my male dark dwarf friend try and seduce the emperor... funny as hell, but so out of touch of tone from the rest of the baldurs gate/ dnd theme that I cannot take it seriously.
