Are there no easy cheats for single player mode?
I have some trouble with one of my hands so cheats might make the game more enjoyable for me. I tend to avoid games without single player cheats due to 'frustration with my slow and ungainly hand'. I've not purchased the game, just trying to get the real info. I can't find a working free dl site for cheat engine or recon. Editing the save file might be a fine work around. I'd take any advice on any approach, Thx!

theres a thousand mods that make the game easier already, on top of trainers and cheat engine tables, im begging you people to learn to just use google or your search engine of choice instad of steam forums of all things

also the game's lowest difficulty should be more than enough that you shouldnt really need third party stuff

There's trainers and mods LOL. Tons of them. But here's some links to some of the major ones:

Trainers:

https://fearlessrevolution.com/viewtopic.php?t=13996
https://www.wemod.com/cheats/baldurs-gate-3-trainers

I prefer cheathapps vs Wemod. Cheat Engine scripts are often free but sometimes do not get updated.

Mods:

IMO: This is a great mod that changes the party limit to 8, but it must be disabled for a few rare cutscenes: https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/327?tab=description I'm not sure if this issue was fixed since I last played.

I obviously don't know the full extent of your hand's condition, so take this with a grain of salt:
With all due respect, I don't believe one less-than-mobile hand would make this game much harder. The game is almost entirely playable with just a mouse, if not fully playable. Keyboard controls are essentially just shortcuts/hotkeys, and AFAIK any of these actions can be accessed with only the mouse.
As an example, C will make your character sneak. However, you can also just put a sneak action on your hotbar and click that when you need to. There's also a button under your party list that makes the whole party start or stop sneaking.
Things like high APM, rapid inputs, or reflexes are not needed in this game. Combat is turn based. If you're out of combat and something happens that would normally require reflexes, such as triggering a trap, the game will enter a turn-based mode. This way you can precisely control each character to get them out of the way as much as possible.
Most of the difficulty of the game comes from your tactics and your willingness to engage with the game. By engaging I mean things such as exploring, doing side quests, recruiting allies, exploiting enemy weaknesses, and utilizing the environment.

That being said, there are ways to make the game easier.

The game currently has 5 difficulty settings. In order of easiest to hardest: Explorer, Balanced, Tactician, Honour. The 5th mode is called Custom mode which, as you can likely guess, lets you change a lot of settings. Things like enemy power, tactics, and loadouts (items/abilities), player character power, economy adjustments. and information visibility. I haven't really played on this mode or on easy mode, but from looking at the settings it looks like you could make custom mode even easier than Explorer mode.

As others have mentioned, there are also plenty trainers, cheat engine tables, and mods that can make the game even easier. Mods aren't officially supported yet so they can be a little tricky to set up initially, but there are guides available that explain the process.

Combat's turn based and movement's mouse click to designate where to go to, so you'd probably be fine with the game as it is. Granted it's more convenient to be able to use hotkeys and move the screen around as you see fit, but worst case you can enable turn-based mode at any time if you need to do anything you can't otherwise manage comfortably.

100% agree with the above 2 comments. I only use the KB for panning the camera, but that can also be done with the mouse.

Well, you've been told the game is easy to play with just a mouse or single hand. I'd say this really isn't impacted that much in BG3 even across the entire game difficulty arc. The tougher game settings make the enemies and situations tougher, but not the play style.
You've also not played the game yet, and given what you've learned, I'd think you just might enjoy playing BG3 to find out for yourself.
Me: I use only a mouse to play the game, except for hitting F5 to make manual saves. I could easily program a mouse button to do that as well (and a lot more since I use a Stealcase MMO mouse with 12 programmable buttons, but currently don't use any of those to play this game).

enabling script extender will allow you to do easy cheats with no 3rd party mod programs required.

It lets you spawn items, add gold, add exp, set tadpoles, inspiration points, appearance, respec, and even change approval all with command line statements.

Essentially this. In regards to limited hand function the game has zero "quick time" events or mechanics that require fast reflexes or quick, repetitive button presses. Some Icons might be a bit finicky to select with precision depending on your mobility, but is balanced by the fact most UI windows are able to be re-positioned by the player.

The main buttons on KB I haven't found an analog for on-screen are:

-ALT which highlights and identifies most important (not all) items that could easily be missed or are tough to click on.

-the Arrow keys which moves the camera independent of the characters (useful for getting a lay of the land).

-the Grave or " ` " key that highlights all friends and foes alike.

and the O key for changing the camera into a top-down view.

There's an accessibility menu and you can rebind keys to your preferences so between those tools you ought to be okay. Also I found it really helpful to have a mouse that has a middle scroll wheel/button for easy camera rotation/zoom.

Even more helpful, if you ever do find yourself in a situation where you want to make a "fast escape" - cough picking pockets cough - you can even deliberately enter turn-based mode and buy yourself more time and ease to pull off your heist.

My mouse is a decent Logitech trackball with 7 buttons, and I've assigned the buttons so that I barely have to touch the keyboard.
There are also mods like Basket Full of Equipment that have some massively overpowered gear (like, Ring +6 to all abilities), and others that let you level up with one experience point.

Who needs that just get a few bags and this will never be an issue.
