he fits the lolth-sworn who escaped drow society type
I think the term is useful, as long as we don't try to use TaKo's silly definition.
It's only until they break away from Lolth and reach the surface that they considered Seldarine.
Within a society you have to follow cultural norms to some extent, especially in the Underdark. If you don't, you could end up a sacrifice. However, just like in real life, there's going to be varying degrees. There are Drow that enjoy a blood bath, but there's also Drow that don't. Those are the Drow that typically leave the Underdark and break from the chaotic goddess Lolth.
This game doesn't really touch on it, but Seldarine doesn't mean you're automatically good. You're just probably going to be less blood thirsty since you don't worship Lolth.
And just because a Lolth-sworn Drow is evil does not mean they will mesh with other evil characters in the game. For example Minthara is an evil Drow, but she is not a Lolth-sworn Drow. She's an apostate, and I'd imagine a true worshiper of Lolth would want to kill her even more than the Druids at the Grove.
One thing that they both have in common is that they are pretty snooty in their responses. Even Seldarine Drow can be hierarchical. Female Drow have interesting interactions with male Drow NPCs which emphasize their higher position in Drow society.
Don't sweat so much about "making things fit". Lore exists to serve as a start point, not as a cage.
