How to knock Minthara out in Act 1?
I only managed to knock her out twice. Is there a trick to it?
Online tips like agreeing to join her and stealing an item does not work. She ends up dead after the fights most of the time.

There was once I managed to knock her out by getting her to 2 hit points and she stayed down.. Mopped up the other goblins for the next few rounds and then my game crashed.. :(

Any ideas?

turn on non-lethal damage and reduce her HP to 1 with a melee attack. magic and ranged will always kill

Before anything else, turn on the non-lethal passive power (passive tab of your hotbar).

Then what I do is talk to her, but don't actually agree to raid the grove. Tell her there's stuff you need to take care of first. Then steal a bottle off her desk. When she confronts you about it, refuse to go quietly and she becomes 'Temporarilly hostile'

At this point, take her down, using only melee attacks. Anything else can kill her.

Once that's done, deal with any other goblin aggro.

The whole thing gets substantially easier if you take out both nearby wardrums before the fight (stealth helps), and then shoot out the bridge in her area once the fight starts. Any goblin that leaps over, you can just push into the void. (For extra fun, a druid with the thorn whip cantrip can pull them in from the other side.

I was struggling with knocking her out after stealing or doing whatever and then finding out after hours to get to Moonrise she was not in Moonrise towers. Several times. Despite i was ( almost ) certain she was TEMPORARILY HOSTILE which is the mandatory condition for this to even work, As it is a very sketchy mechanic that used to be an unintended bug.

Then i watched a video of someone just attacking/killing a goblin just next to Minthara. That sends her into temporarily hostille 100 % certain. So that worked and is not difficult to pull off.

Of course to knock her out you need to set weapons to non lethal as already pointed out. And not use ranged or magic on Minthara as she is about to reach 1% hp or you will kill her anyway.

Later in the game you need non lethal weapons again when you need to capture Minsc. And overall it is a very useful feature to not kill vendors or NPC with a storyline ( a lot of them return in act 3 if you let them live ) when you aggro them somehow.

You find non lethal weapons settings in the tabs above you spells/attacks, bottom screen

This is pure rubbish. I've knocked her out 3 times after tricking her to attack the grove. She is super easy to knock out there cause she doesn't do anything until her forces are exhausted and then you can just gang up on her and knock her out.

You can also just beat her up where you find her if you wanna go that route and leave her unconscious. There is no trickery involved at all.
