And not being able to import your old character. BG3 should have just been a new IP instead of sullying Baldur's Gate's good name.
Baldurs Gate 3 is based on D&D 5th edition rules where level 20 is the highest possible level.
And 20 means you are basically a demi god that can annihilate entire armies without breaking a sweat.
In the tabletop games around level 12-14 is where many groups start over because it gets so boring since everyone is so powerful.
Capping the level at 12 was the correct decision for BG 3.
BG 2 did use a completely different leveling and power system, a level 40 character in BG 2 is about as strong as a level 12 character in BG 3.
Too bad for you that 5th ed. is popular.
So you're comparing one game to two games and two expansions. You do realize how silly you're being, right?
5e mind flayers are Challenge 7, last I checked. The system has been rebalanced, as others have told you.
