Lore Hell Power Level? Check my RP backstory

who is potentially more powerfull?
Tieflings vs Cambions vs Devils .

as far as i understood any of them can achieve Asmodeus power lvl theoreticaly .

i am constracting RP backstory for my Tiefling Evil Warlock ( no pact, i am source of power)

idea was that i have no idea of what my ancestors are , i posses power to consume souls aka Shang Tsung. Somehow i was infested with tadpole and due to its unnatural magic i cant take it out . Then i realise that its a great opportunity for power gain . Same time tadpole kinda blocked my true powers and i need to restore them with Evil play to harvest more souls. I need to pretend that i am regular tiefling untill my powers are back .
End is basicaly plan is same as Raphaels .

Only Devils can challenge Asmodeus, though it would be a tough thing to accomplish.

Cambions are the direct union of a mortal and a Devil.

Tieflings are the latent fiendish curse of a bloodline surfacing in a child. The curse isn't necessarily a sexual union and that is more likely to create a Cambion than a latent bloodline curse. It is more likely a bad deal with a fiend (devil or demon, but more commonly {and, originally in 5e, only} a devil) in the Tiefling's ancestry.

Cambions and Tieflings would need something to greatly increase their power in order to challenge Asmodeus.

Tieflings are just normal people with a specific appearance and a fiendish quirk. They're not superpowered any more than and other race of Toril.

The game can't accommodate that backstory. That'll have to remain headcanon if you wish to play that way.

what is the question here? are you asking for ancestors? The game only gives you 3 choices for tiefling bloodlines. zariel is a weird one since she was a fallen angel and not a devil so i dont understand that (though i do think its awesome anyway). but the other two (assuming you aren't using mods to give yourself the rest of the tiefling options) are perfectly reasonable bloodlines for your ancestorhood.

just roleplay that your bloodline is your source of power, your powers come from asmodeus or whatever bloodline you chose, boom, profit, headcanon achieved.

theres also mods that can let you be a devil. one gives you wings, another gives you the ability to polymorph into a cambion or even raphael for overpowered fun (still less overpowered than Dark Urge.)

Given his stats as per 5e he's quite a tough opponent. That said I'd wager he'd be a decent adversary to an adventuring party at end of the 3rd consecutive run of BG2-ToB...

But that's if he's taken alone... The main source of his power is the command over the countless minions in hell, and to defeat that hoarde... Well. It's nigh on impossible, only way I think it possible to kill him in his domain would be for a very powerful wizard to WISH his hoard from refraining to "help" him for a while, buying time for the super-dooper-hyper-buffed-whirlwind-hasted-melee-characters to shred him to pieces...

As for OTHER devils to do that, I find it quite impossible, unless ALL other archdevils in hell unite to take him down.

I highly suggest you spend a few hours going over the lore of the Forgetten Realms and how the different races of the Hells work. Because Tieflings, Cambions, and Devils are not in a power struggle. It would be like comparing Gods, to Giants, to Humans. It doesnt work.

Why only Devils? as far as i know Devis is Evil Mortal after death climbing from bottom Hell ranks to top.
Cambion is Mortal+Devil or Arch Devil
Tiefling - i checked lore . Tiefling bloodline can be ANYTHING starting from Gods and Entity .
so teoreticaly i can RP Tiefling who is Son of Asmodeus

but main Hell man Asmodeus-Devil . Then he became entity by harvesting soul of other entity.
Mefistofel is number 2 for example .
and in game Raphael Cambion becomes Hell ruler with Crown
