It'll come eventually, no need to try and mess with game files
Right now I'm trying out the Cambion race mod. This thing is nutty overpowered. At level 12 it gets an ability called "apocalypse" which is basically a "nuke the room" power. Of course, I love overpowered. (LOL) Much like the Half Dragon race mod, which, of course, I had to try also.
Baldurs Gate 3 Mod Manager should be your first move. You can drag and drop downloaded zip files *most of the time*. It also does some behind the scenes stuff better. Then go to Nexus, and read the instructions of every mod you install. Some require you to do more than just drag and drop. Once you get the hang of it, it's not terribly hard, tho there is a learning curve. But specifically, read about the Grymforge bug in the instructions for Party Limit Be Gone.
Also, I don't claim to have any special knowledge, but I don't think there will be Workshop support. It could happen, but there is a lot of complexity (mod mods that have mods, etc) going on.
You just need to enter these 2 commands in the window:
SetMaxPartySizeOverride(12)
Osi.PROC_CheckPartyFull()
If you don't want to do that and use Vortex, I would recommend this mod:
https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/327
To install:
1) download the mod
2) drag and drop the .zip (or .rar or .7zip) file to the window at the bottom of the mods list in Vortex that is labelled Drop File(s) surrounded by a box with dashed lines. You don't drag the .pak file inside the window like the directions say, just the entire .zip file that contains the .pak file(s).
Using BGMM requires some more knowledge, and I would research that first for a bit as it requires more work and configuration to make it function properly, along with manually ordering your mods, some in front of others to get them to work. Vortex does all this automatically, so I would recommend going the easy route if you aren't familiar at all with modding in BG3.
OP I honestly would wait to mod this as larian will be releasing another patch with more evil endings and also the modding tools. so usually when there is a big patch which i think 7 will be with the new endings, many mods break. You should wait to mod till after the update so the mod makers can update their mods . you really do not want to get hours in game and have mods break and your save get messed up. just a suggestion. :]
Like Draklanor, I am waiting for the official steam workshop to come out so that I can actually change this game to my own preferences - it actually could be a very good onewith some tweeking andadjustments
