NEW GAME PLUS PLEASE
I feel like it should be a thing. I have A LOT of fun with games that have it and have not played this game after I beat it 3 times because I don't like getting the best gear in the game only to have it for 20 minutes then the game is over...It won't hurt anything to have it.

The point really in this game when starting over is to try a new character and new choices. Wouldn't make a lot of sense to carry over your person. THAT said... There are a pleathora of mods/cheats that will give you every item you could ever want. So you can just go that way to kit yourself out how you like in further playthroughs. Same deal with DOS2 could just install an easy mod that made a guy that could give you whatever items you wanted. When full mod support comes out this will be very simple but for now Nexusmods has tons of options for you.

*small disclaimer with item mods as updates CAN break your saves if the mod isn't also updated* Use at own risk

totally agree with Static's comment^
Try different combo with classes and choices you never make you will be surprised how much changing.
specially in act 1 and 2.

Plenty of mods out there that let you play as unique races not included in the vanilla game.

While I do agree that trying something new is nice, a lot of people would be very happy if they did include NG+... I can't see it's inclusion being anything but a positive. If you think it pointless then don't use it.

That depends entirely on the quality of the execution. BG3 has as a reputation for quality; a poorly implemented NG+ mode would affect that reputation. Worse reputation, worse sales.

The difference between a good game and a middling game is often the developer knowing their limits. Most people don't want to start NG+, only to, for example, realize nothing changes; they're just OP now, but the enemies are no stronger than before (*cough cough* Dragon's Dogma 2). That would be a sour note to end one's experience on.

I definitely don't support the 'new game+' scenario. I enjoy the fresh start and creating a brand new story with a new character.

i guess some people enjoy it.
i hated the NG+ thing after trying it in elden ring it totally ruined my save and character and the world is so boring and you barely do anything different aside from the "endings" for achievements

I can see why you'd want it, but also why it would straight up break the game. NG+ are only really beneficial in games with active combat, or in which power levels are not correlating too directly with actual levels.

Essentially a NG+ you'd have a fight with level 12 goblins, capable of casting massive spells and using broken maneuvers, and it still wouldn't be enough to take you because of how massivelly overpowered you can get by that level.

It wouldn't make much sense thematically to have everyone at some busted level.

Maybe just me, but I find NG+ to be a useless feature I never use.

I agree, but I mainly just want to view the cutscenes, which isn't exactly the same as NG+. At least in FF14, as an example, you can rewatch cutscenes through a "journal" type thing and then NG+ allows you to replay the actual questlines. I think the former would be a good addition to the game. I really don't want to replay the whole game just to try out a few different dialogue options or romance someone different.

The issue is - how? The game would be ridiculous with all items you can grab and there would be 0 reward if you got them already.

Why waste time getting the best gear in the game to only have it for 20 minutes then start all over? Having the option DOES NOT HURT ANYTHING.

I just want the choice. I only play single player, but also in real life D&D I have the option to start my campaign with whatever I want as the DM so why couldn't I do it here?

That's not the point, Read what I wrote again.

dont think a new game + would fit, however

would be nice if we were able to save character customization as presets that can be applied

also would be nice to have a difficulty mode that starts the game at a higher level(like, idk, 5) with enemies also tweaked to have stats and abilities that match PCs starting at level 5, changes starting gear to +1 stuff and what not

the very early game of cRPGs can get very stale even after just a couple runs
