Unable to Get Into Raphael's Vault in House of Hope

I made two save files. One where I destroyed Harleep and another where I slept with him. For some reason, I cannot get into Raphael's vault with either save file. It doesn't let me select the vault, it only highlight and select the button underneath the painting. My characters also keep failing the perception check every time I reload and walk past the button. I figured I would try to take the hammer, since I can't get into the vault, but it only leads to Hope freaking out on me because I didn't get the hammer and everyone has turned hostile. I haven't encountered any bugs until now. What can I do?

Does Mage Hand-ing the hammer right out of the sphere still work, or was that patched? Lulz can also serve as an emergency bugfix.

Just checking you've pressed the button and the painting has moved (so you can actually see the safe)? The perception check is for the trap on the painting.

So, I feel stupid. Right after I posted this, I was able to get the safe open. It was extremely finicky because I had to move my character very slowly and angle them correctly just for the safe to get highlighted. I have noticed and it has happened a lot during game play where I need a specific item, and I'm unable to grab it because for some reason it doesn't register and you have to be extremely slow and angle yourself correctly just to pick up the item. It's annoying!
