Lowa found dead outside of Steel Watch

Spoilers for parts of act 3:

So, i just finished with the steel watch foundry, and I did it after completing the iron throne which for some reason meant all the gondians were already fighting the baneists and saving them all was the hardest thing i've done in this game yet. It was a massive pain, but I did manage to get through it without a single one dying. After the factory blew up I brokered peace between the gondians and the ironhands by excommunicating wulbren, and thought i was finally done with all these dumbass gnomes, but then i saw Lowa's body just lying in front of the factory rubble, dead. Why did she die? I could've sworn no one died during either of the fights, did I just miss it or is it a planned death I can't avoid?

Edit: so i looked through my saves a bit more, and I think I figured it out. I snuck past the steel watcher in front of the foundry instead of killing it, so when the gondians ran outside i think they fought the steel watcher and Lowa died.

Yup; I'm playing it right now and it's very frustrating with how many steps to this quest there are and how bad and buggy the ai on these NPCs still is.

These stupid gnomes are absolutely suicidal, her included. In my run she run into the factory triggering the Steel Watch patroling outside... and for what???!?!? After dealing with that mess she gingerly stepped outside the foundry just to stand around and do nothing... this game...

I swear, if this quest doesn't help me with the EndBoss/End Confrontation I'm gonna be beyond pissed.
