Titanstring Bow - damage question

So halfway through Act 3 and spoiled for choice on weaponry at this point. The Titanstring Bow was on Karlach since I got it given her beastly STR score (+6 without elixirs). The way I read it, that should mean the Titanstring is the base 1d8+1+DEX+STR when it comes to damage.

The tooltips don't show that, of course. They just show the 1d8+1+DEX. But that STR modifier is added? Karlach doesn't need to range too much so I can't really say I paid attention, but on a whim I tried it out on a target dummy and the log doesn't actually tell me anything (since I suppose it's always 0 damage against a dummy).

Are you sure that it only shows DEX?

What are your DEX and STR scores and what is x in 1d8+x?

This is correct, i've checked the combat log over and over to make sure of it.
In my opinion, this is just the best bow in the game damage wise. As long as you have high str it's a killer.

I completely missed that chair and club in my playthrough, among other goodies :/ But still, this is good confirmation. With a chonky companion or Tav you're likely to get +10 or more on damage. The tradeoff is really do you want the benefits of, say, +3 to hit vs +1 and celestial haste if comparing Titanstring to Gontr Mael

In terms of raw damage out put nothing beats this bow in the game if you are using elixirs to boost it´s damage you could go for a crit based ranged build with deadshot once in act 3 that can compete if not you will struggle to come close to the damage that is possible with titanstring.
