Quests don't really have objectives, Not like in WoW or other RPG's.

A lot of the quests you get around the few hrs of the game won't be resolved until act 3.

I know i search far and wide in act 1 for this duke in my first playthrough for example.

Just explore around and you'll complete everything in due time.

I found it was misleading to pay attention to objectives or markers. At times it'll tell you just one solution, but there are usually many more solutions. I personally hate that MMO like quest tracker, immersion = 0

I hate that it spams ALL the quest markers on the map, so I have 20 arrows pointing off-screen on the mini-map, with no way to tell which one I'm trying to move toward without looking at the big map. I know, you can make custom markers, but being able to track one quest at a time is also a very doable QOL thing that Larian decided to skip (in all their games). I like the game a lot, but the camera, inventory system, quest journal, map, etc etc all need page-1 rewrites, as they haven't been improved since D:OS1.

The only thing similar to on screen display are the markers on the minimap which spoil the game imo. But the quests are so badly written that without those spoilers you'd probably never solve them. Look at how many people have never met Withers in their games..

IF you want to see the text of your quest, then yes. You can put a marker on the map, which will have a different icon, but that's of limited usefulness. I open the map and quest journal a ton. It is what it is at this point, and isn't going to improve.

Pretty much. You just have to concentrate on that quest, which really isn't that hard to do, they are spaced out into their own areas, so you don't really need to worry about multiple tasks at the same time, at least, not until act 3. When it can get confusing.

And yes using the custom markers on the main map can really help.. i often use that just to mark the exits and places of interest the game doesn't label as well as the paths to take to escape etc.
