"Sunwalker's Gift" still doesn't work?

Hi all. I bought this ring (should give dark vision up to 12 meters), but my character-human still can't see in the dark. Nothing has changed for the other two party members (they do not have innate night vision - Will and Gale) too.

How is this ring supposed to work? Or am I missing something? :)

I had always assumed it worked, but hadn't verified this. Now I am curious.

I put it on in the Underdark - zero effect. Karlach, for example, has innate night vision, which gives a light cone in front of her - I thought the ring would have the same effect.

I never tested it, because there are way better things for my ring slots, and if my characters don't have Dark vision anyway, I always have 1 or 2 characters with the Light cantrip...
Though if it's broken it should be fixed...

I don’t have a large selection of rings yet, and I decided to take it for now so as not to switch to the torch every time).
I saw on the Internet that people had a problem with the ring, but I still haven’t found a solution.

Considering we have a roster of 6-9 companions there is always a free finger somewhere.

Tieflings children are cool). And goblins childrens are also funny, albeit harmful. I didn’t kill them (just stunned) those two near the wargs’ pen when I freed Halsin. And the three outside just disappeared when I killed Ragzlin.
