**SPOILER** Question about assault on Moonrise Towers in Act 2
After clearing the main floor, I noticed some Harpers run down the stairs into the prison. Not Jaheira mind you, just some NPCs. I went down there too and encountered a ♥♥♥♥ ton of undead and such. Lots of XP opportunity I wager, but given that there's no sneaky way into the prison I was wondering if this is necessary/consequential to do before storming up the tower?

Honestly that whole section is much better done by infiltrating it.
By doing so you get access to several vendors and some really nice gear.
By doing so and being sneaky you can also stealthily kill off a number of people before going back and having them charge in which makes the whole thing a lot easier.
(Or just stealthily kill a bunch and take out the rest in open combat yourself, after which Jarheira can still join you)

As for the dungeon, there are several harpers and a few other people down there that can be saved if you infiltrate first.
If you just charge in there is no way to save them and they are dead.

Not quite the ask but I appreciate the response. I've saved the people in the prison, rescued the Nightsong, and joined the Harper assault on the Towers. I've done everything else but this at this point, and even did some sneaky sneaky bits to make the fight with Z'rell go down easy.

So this question is more about whether there's any particular reason to go down to the prisons first, or just keep going up to fight Ketheric on the roof. I might ♥♥♥♥ around and do the prisons first just to see myself, but I was looking up if there was like any reason to do so (or not) and not seeing anything.

There really aren't any "wrong" ways to do anything. There are more or less difficult paths, but nothing ends the game or breaks the main story. The only thing that does that is if your whole party dies, but then you re-load.

I didn't notice anyone going downstairs during the assault. I had already freed the prisoners and killed the guards down there, so I didn't go down during the assault, I just headed upstairs thinking I was done with that section. After dealing with Ketheric I went down and realized there were some dead Harpers in the basement. Then I remembered that I had only killed the guards and not the other people in the rooms at the bottom of the stairs, so I presume they killed the Harpers there. Sloppy of me, and it made me feel a little bad.

As far as I noticed though, the only effect is that the Harpers who go downstairs will likely die if you don't back them up.

I hope that's helpful.

Doesn't matter. You can kill everyone in the prison in advance, and those harpers will still be dead.

Aw, man. Could I save them if I went downstairs during the fight? I was sad to find Branthos's corpse down there. He was the one who'd given my Tav directions to Last Light Inn!

In any case, thanks for letting me know that.
