End game in multiplayer is terrible experience and need a fix

I understand the rule, that new people cannot join during endgame, but I think at least your regular party should be able to rejoin and take over their characters.
We need to restart the whole thing for 2nd time already, cause it's either bugging out and disconnecting someone on the wipe or character will stuck on some action and we need to reload fix it somehow.

It should at least remember who was playing with me from the beginning and allow them in.

I really want to finish this game with my whole 4 people party in. :<

Quick workaround if this happens again :
1. Load an unrelated save where everyone can join
2. have everyone join up
3. load the initial save (the one you actually want to play)

You just saved our first Honor run (we unlogged during the climb to the nether brain). I shall name my next character after you!
