Minthara suddenly my romance partner

I followed the guide to saving Minthara and recruited her. My main romantic interest had the interest bar almost completely to the right of the character sheet - so nearly max affection.

Now, despite Minthara only being about 2/3 of the affection bar (and decidedly less than my main romantic interest) shes decided I'm hers, I get the option to kiss her and my main romantic interest is now in tears and I cant kiss them.

In this a bug? or is Minthara just that overbearing?

dwarf, you can dump that guide. it is outdated and now misleading. as you know, you can recruit her after a grove sided role. you can even ignore her obsession for power and control.

she will still try to capture your character if you carry on to act 3, even if you just mind your own business. eventually in the camp a dialogue icon will appear over her.
saving her is just enough.

It's kind of iffy that if you just "picture her as your lover" you commit to it. But ... I just went through that conversation in my latest save, and it's very clear from the context that she is offering to be your lover. And then you open your mind to her. And then she asks you to show her how you see her.

At that point, if you "picture yourself as her lover" while you *know* she is seeing what you are thinking, then what do you expect is going to happen?

I pictured her as my friend, and she was disappointed. Then she outright suggested we could be lovers. I said I was committed to someone else. She said, "But now you can have ME." I said nope. She agreed that we could still be allies, and that was that.

Oh, I don't remember the conversation where i was asked to picture her relationship with me, but from what you all say i must have gone the lover route. Bugger ;)

How is it iffy that your character's personal canonical opinion, in their own mind, counts as the thing they believe to be true? It's LITERALLY your thoughts. It'd be weird if it didn't.

I don't know about you, but I have occasionally idly speculated what it might be like to be with a person that I had no intention of actually trying to make a pass at.

What's going on here? What I'm suggesting is a famous underground mod that removes gay characters and romances wouldn't necessarily affect this one at all.

(Though other more mainstream 'romance mods' might.)
