And for that reason, I cannot say more without spoiling some rather major story bits.
Also I believe only one death in the entire game actually counts for the run's trajectory, you can in theory play the game knocking out 99.99% of people instead of killing them and still get the 'succumb to the Urge' path. It might be two or three, but it's still a ridiculously low number. But that's to be expected, doing a no kills run is actually pretty difficult because of things like magic not interacting with nonlethal attacks.
* Because Larian said the custom protagonist would actually have story ties this time, and Tav is a great big block of untied generic.
On my VERY next long rest, the butler showed up and made me make some tough choices. Funny thing was that I made the saving throw to choose Halsin but the butler didn't care. What was the point of the saving throw? The original choice was someone too valuable to my party (Gale) so I awoke them and made it through those saving throws but we will have to see what happens next. I did fail the saving throw the first time and when the others woke up, they all attacked and killed me. It definitely seems like it is getting interesting!
But I hear Larian is buffing the "evil endings"
