Can't speak to how much the Hasbro drama played a part in this decision, but I can't imagine it was the catalyst.
2) Buying a game, completing it once and moving on to other games is completely normal. Engagement numbers drop off after release is completely normal for single-player games
3) The game has enough content for a 100 hours of play time as is + high replayability value due to being an RPG.
4) It's not just about the money. It's more about control of what can and cannot be in a future game. Working within constraints of an IP that doesn't belong to you imposes limitations you might not like.
