Baldur's Gate 3

Baldur's Gate 3

View Stats:
The game is unplayable now in Act 2 due to constant stutter.
Basically every 1.5 seconds the game stutters. Almost 99% sure it's a memory leak, as it doesn't happen immediately, but after playing for 10-15 minutes.

Fix your "GOTY" game, Larian.

Not happening to me. Update your drivers and fix your PC.

Are you trying to be useless?

You’re the only one with this problem here. It’s probably your hardware.

I’m in Act 2 rn on a playthrough and it’s running better than it ever has.

I can attest to the same problem. The thing is, it may really just be some memory leak thing. If I restart the game, the lag goes away and I'm back at a cool 60 fps.

It's kinda a crapshoot on when the lag happens
The lag also goes away temporarily after being alt-tabbed for a bit, for some reason.

What a joke.

It was running fine on my hardware the first 2 playthroughs and it was running just fine on my hardware last ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ week. After the recent patch - stuttering and consistent ones at that.

Protip: Go to Task Manager and set BD3.exe to run at efficiency mode (or if there's no such option, choose High Priority)

It wont kill off all the lag but it does alleviate the lag significantly. But best way for me was to still restart the game.

Nevertheless I dont think the lag stays for long. For some reason, the lag is no longer around ever since I made it to near the end of Act 2. I think cos there's less enemy spawns after I killed most stuff all over the map lol

I'm afraid that pc gaming requires more input from the user than just screaming at the dev to FIX IT!

He is not the only one with this problem. I am on a 4070, I will update once I check for driver updates.

I'm now at the end of Act 2 and at that certain battle, the lag is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ atrocious. My FPS completely plumetted from 60 fps to like 10 fps.

I got around it by finally relenting and turning down my graphics settings. Still, it sucked.
