How do I place items in Rosymorn Monastery?

Hey guys, I'm sorry to bother you. I'm in the monastery, and I need to place the ceremonial weapons on the blocks in that one room. I have all four of them (the sword is already there).

For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to "place" items. I can throw them... but they never seem to make it on the block. What's more, they always seem to bounce off and then knock me to the ground, haha.

Is there a trick to doing this properly? I'm, playing it on a PC. When I drag it from inventory and place it on the block... I'm still apparently throwing it? Any idea?

Click and drag from your inventory. If they get rejected, you're placing the wrong item.

If they're bouncing off and knocking you down, you're putting them in the wrong places.

i used the throw action, but each weapon have a specific altar, if u fail you get retaliation damage. there is a book teaching you one of the altar, 2 you can guess from the picture on the floor while the broken one is the one you will have left. (sorry don't remember the order)

2 of the ceremonial weapon positions are shown properly in the stained glass on the floor. The other 2 aren't shown well, one spot is broken and the other picture isn't much help. There is a book clue for that one, but I just go for the 50/50 chance on the last 2 and chose the other one if I get it wrong.

Thanks guys, that worked. It's funny... I just assumed I was doing it wrong, I didn't think that the weapon flying back at me was because I was putting it in the wrong place! Thanks!!!
